Follow the steps below to install the CodeAnt AI extension in Visual Studio:
  1. Install CodeAnt AI Extension: Open Visual Studio and install the CodeAnt AI extension from the Visual Studio marketplace. Alternatively, install it directly from Visual Studio:
    • Navigate to Extensions > Manage Extensions
    • Click the Online tab
    • Search for “CodeAnt AI”
    • Click Download on the CodeAnt AI extension
  2. Restart Visual Studio: After installation, restart Visual Studio to activate the extension:
    • Close all Visual Studio windows
    • Reopen Visual Studio to complete the installation
  3. Verify Installation: Confirm the extension is installed and active:
    • Navigate to Extensions > Manage Extensions
    • Click the Installed tab
    • Confirm CodeAnt AI appears in your installed extensions list
    • Check for CodeAnt AI options in the Tools menu or View menu
  4. Test Functionality: Ensure the extension is working correctly:
    • Open the CodeAnt AI window from View > Other Windows > CodeAnt AI
    • Verify that your latest commits are visible in the review interface
    • If review doesn’t work check and resolve the pop-ups that appear.
The extension is now ready to review your local changes against the main branch. Login to start using CodeAnt AI.
